Hotel Renovation – Fairfield Inn Sacramento Cal Expo
This project encompassed a comprehensive, multi-level renovation of the Fairfield Inn in Sacramento, including guestrooms, the lobby, and common areas. Work focused on modernizing spaces, updating finishes, and replacing furnishings and interior systems, all executed with high standards of quality and detail.
Scope of work performed:
1. General demolition:
Removal of existing flooring, partition walls, acoustic ceilings, light fixtures, furniture, and architectural elements.
Removal of carpeting and window treatments in rooms.
Demolition of the sit-down business center to redistribute the space.
2. Metal framing:
Installation of metal structures for new partition walls according to plans.
Use of galvanized steel profiles of various sizes according to structural specifications.
3. Drywall Installation:
Installation of 5/8″ X-shaped panels on one or both sides, depending on the location.
Application of Level 4 and Level 5 finishes on walls and ceilings.
Sanding, priming, and preparation for paint.
4. Wall and Floor Finishes:
Installation of vinyl plank flooring, modular carpeting, and woven vinyl.
Installation of porcelain tile on floors and walls, especially in common areas.
Application of paint and decorative textures on walls and ceilings.
5. Ceilings:
Installation of new 2×2 acoustic panels with a grid structure.
Painted gypsum board ceilings, including details in the lobby and hallways.
Replacement of damaged or stained ceilings.
6. Openings:
Installation of new doors and metal frames in all indicated areas.
7. Furniture and Equipment:
Removal of existing furniture in King and Double Queen rooms.
Installation of new furniture in rooms, lobby, business center, and common areas.
Installation of quartz countertops in the lobby.
8. Bases and Transitions:
Installation of rubber baseboards in rooms and hallways.
Application of Schluter-type transitions at floor changes.
9. Lighting and Accessories:
Replacement and installation of new light fixtures.
Installation of accessories such as grab bars in accessible areas.
Final result:
The Fairfield Inn Sacramento was completely transformed into a modern and functional hotel, enhancing both the aesthetics and the guest experience. Each renovated space received new, durable and elegant finishes and was equipped with updated furnishings and fixtures to meet customer expectations and Marriott brand standards.
